REMINDER — Don’t Wait for the Perfect Wave. Jump on the Next One.
In business, relationships, or personal goals — we tend to wait.
Wait for the timing to be right.
Wait for the moment to be perfect.
But in surfing, like in life, that “perfect wave” might never come when you want it.
And that’s okay. Because giving glory to God isn’t about flawless results.
It’s about doing your best with what you have — right now.
If you're in a tough season, I think of Romans 5:4:
“And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation.”
God’s timeline is not your timeline.
But your story is still part of His plan.
So let every season be like The Karate Kid —
a time of “washing on or washing off.”
Every wave you ride — even the messy ones — prepares you for the next.
That’s creativity. That’s life. That’s how you learn to ride.
Hybrid training takeaway?
Start where you are.
Don’t compare.
(Shoutout to Andi — #004BuiltFromWithinWin)
The next best time to start is now.
Because what matters most… is that you start.
Get on the wave.

2. RHYTHM – Say YES, AND
Calling out the rule-followers.
The pleasers.
The bubble wrap kids.
Yeah… at some point, that was all of us.
We were taught to color inside the lines.
To follow the steps.
To not mess it up.
But at some point, you have to flip the switch.
Not to reject the structure — but to build on it.
Use frameworks like CROW — as a launchpad, not a cage.
- Use it to build your back workouts.
- Use it to unlock Scripture in a new way.
- Use it to move — then add your rhythm.
Say YES… AND.
Yes to the system — and I’m adding this.
Yes to the method — and I’m building it my way.
Yes to discipline — and I’m bringing my own voice.
Frameworks aren’t finish lines. They’re starting blocks.
Take what’s here — then fly.

3. RITUAL – Run/Ride a different route.
Simple. But powerful.
Run a different route.
That’s it.
New streets. New sounds. New smells.
You’re still doing the reps — but your brain is doing more than just moving.
It’s rewiring.
Opening.
Making connections.
Our ability to see things differently is the seed of all creativity.
And creativity isn’t just for art — it’s for how you lead, train, love, and build.
“Life is made by people no smarter than you or me.”
— Steve Jobs
So run a different route.
Let your mind breathe.
Let your rhythm shift.
Let perspective in.
Your job isn’t to control the path — it’s to discover it.
